Tube headphone amps anybody?

Postby hilldweller » Thu Sep 11, 2014 5:28 am

I am seeking a good tube headphone amp or project. I know very little about these, any suggestions? I know someone out there has some good advice on this. Thanks in advance.

The difference between a tube power amp and tube headphone amp is basically nil. I think my Budgie SE works well as a dedicated headphone amp, and is a cheap and easy build:

If you wanted to do something like a parafeed design, build the EAR design from Mapletree:

Man, if the name of the company was not trademarked I would have totally stolen it. (lol)

IF OTL is fun, have a look at this one: http://schematic.narod.ru/Audio/tube/otl/otl01.htm. The 6S19P tubes are still very obtainable and not pricey at all.
