Isolation transformer

I have a Triad 50VA isolation transformer and was wondering if I can use it as a power supply transformer. Is there any advantage or downside to using an isolation transformer in this way?

I can't remember--I've had it for about fifteen years. Maybe All Electronics. I do see that the same model is currently available at Mouser and Digikey.

Ah,

I use them pretty frequently. If it is 120V secondary, I use a doubler.

I have has a few that were "step down" from 220 or 440 to 120V, and with these I just use them "backward" for 120 in to 440V center tapped.
