Beautiful amplifier, Tom!
I have been away from the forums for a while, but came back to resume where I had left off with my amplifier projects. I have come back to find quite a few changes around here. First, Shannon isn't offering his PCB's anymore and frankly I have not seen recent posts from him. Further, I am not even sure if you will get this message as it seems the last ones I have seen from you were around 2017 / 2018. However, I have been to your website and you are still making amplifiers with the last one posted from 2020. So I am glad to see that you are still working on amplifiers.
Coming back to finish what I have started years ago, I have come to the point where I am populating a Clementine board for testing purposes of a Darling and a Chubby variant. I would have a separate board for each, but since Mr. Parks isn't making any more boards, I am going to have to work with the one. I have noticed that there are only a few part differences save for larger caps on the Chubby. So I am going to go per values for the Chubby variant and then just change out what I need for the Darling.
Given that you have build a great many Clementine amplifiers, I am curious to the parts types and brands that you have used for your capacitors and resistors. Particularly those in the signal chain. I am curious to know which brands / types that show good sonic performance and where. I know this seems to affect capacitors more than resistors, but again, you are the expert here given that you have built a great number of these amplifiers.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Geo
