There are a few vendors on ebay selling them, I just bought 10 for $8 with free shipping.

On mine, I can read (from the top to the bottom):

ST (in italics)
LM
334
L706

It's a TO-92 type.

Yes, you could use the above parts, I think this one is the one on the parts list: 926-LM334Z/NOPB
As of the time of this post Mouser shows quantity: 2200 in stock, ready to ship.
The parts that include (-3) and (-6) have a larger temp. error.

Glad to see these are back in stock at Mouser. I would suggest the 926-LM334Z/NOPB, as you won't really gain anything with the LM234Z parts in this application.

It may have been covered elsewhere, but Mouser has added National Semi to it's line card.

National Semiconductor was recently acquired by Texas Instruments and there is some shifting around going on among their distributors. Glad to see National's parts at Mouser.

Noticed that these have a lower max voltage than the LM334Z at only 30V instead of 40V. So I would steer clear and use the LM334Z. We tube guys need every bit of working voltage we can get! (lol)
